In modern times, it’s hard to imagine going around and hunting for a wooly mammoth, which early humans did more than 10,000 years ago! I think that to hunt a wooly mammoth would have taken some big cojones. Hunters nowadays just shoot animals with a gun, many of them harmless animals at that! Not only that, modern hunters just hunt animals for recreation (at least in developed countries), whereas early humans hunted for survival.
Fast Forward 10,000 Years
Nowadays, many people are working in modern office buildings for ‘survival’! Or, in other words, to earn a paycheck in order to buy food, take care of the kids, and pay the bills. Our challenges are of a different kind…like having to keep our email inbox organized, or…battling with the infamous uncooperative office printer!
In thinking about these contrasts between hunting wooly mammoths for survival and wrestling with an office printer, it occurred to me to draw this art with a twist of humor:
On one side, a caveman is going after the wooly mammoth, which is standing on top of the printer. On the other side, a modern office worker has had about enough with the printer, ready to give it a good whack with his briefcase!
Prints of this “The Evolution of the Hunter” office art are available at The Accounting Artist store, with an option to frame, starting at $19.99.
Every Accountant knows that fudging the numbers is against the rules, but how can you resist turning $1,000 into $1,000,000 with some tasty fudge?? This art shows $1,000, then adds three zeroes onto the end of it to make $1,000,000, with 2 pieces of fudge and a pac-man eating them!
Available as an art print on thick, durable, archival and acid-free matte paper. Also available on a mug (with a Made in the USA option!).
You’ve been working hard all morning and are finally able to take a mental break and dig into a delicious lunch. Yum, you can’t wait! BUT, just at that moment, or perhaps after you’ve settled into your nice break, your co-worker strides into your office or cubicle and has very urgent questions. For heavens sake, can’t it just wait until after lunch!?
This humorous mug says “Can it wait until I finish eating lunch? in black lettering, with a smiley face made out of a banana for the mouth, and an apple and plate with a fork and spoon for the eyes!
Makes for a funny gift to a co-worker, especially one that this tends to happen to!
As an office worker, coming into work on Monday usually feels a bit dreary. If it’s cloudy or raining outside, even more so. You get to work and it feels like pulling nails just to log into your email! The week has just started and you already want it to end!
Come Tuesday, the mood starts to brighten a little. You get the feeling that there’s some daylight at the end of the tunnel, and if you squint hard enough, you can see it! You say to yourself – “I think I can do this”.
Wednesday arrives, and you’re halfway there. Whew! Now you feel as if you’re getting into a mid-week groove and gettin’ things done. Emails are being answered and tasks are being checked off your list.
Wow, you’re already at Thursday. The week seemed like it was going so slow, but by golly, now it seems to be going so fast! Just look at all you’ve accomplished so far!
And finally…it’s FRIDAY!!!! PARTY! Now you can wrap up all of your projects from the week, give yourself a pat on the back, and head out for the weekend! YYYYES!
